Tour Description

Upon arrival at the Blue Hole National Park you will be asked to sign in at the Ranger Station. From there a path along the edge of the rainforest leads you to the entrance of St. Herman's Cave, a large cavern used by the ancient Maya during the classical period.

At the entrance of the Cave a trail will take you on a gradual descent into the earth. Your guide will take you even deeper into the fascinating Cave and show and tell you all about the beauty of the underground world. This trail will take you along stalagmites, stalactites and several remainders of Maya artifact used during ceremonies. Along the way your guide will also share fascinating stories about the Maya people who used the Caves for sacred ceremonies.

The Cave adventure comes to an end with a wonderful and leisurely tube float on the underground river that takes you to the second opening of the Cave almost a mile from where you entered.

The tour will proceed from here with a hike along a well-maintained path to the Blue Hole. This sinkhole or cenote is fed by an underground stream with a wonderful shade of blue waters, coming from the Cave. In this crystal clear blue waters you will find an ideal place to take a cooling swim or enjoy a refreshing snack.
